long time no post.

so i abandoned this thing for a while, but after reading and loving strangers/friends blogs on a daily basis, i’ve come crawling back.

i go through phases. right now is my non-experimental-cook-and-eat-cause-you-have-to-and-might-as-well-enjoy-it phase. with this, i present to you my spicy spicy black bean cakes with avocado cream and a nice sunny side egg on top (poached would’ve been amazing, but i’m still in this less work cooking phase).

now, i’ve been trying to go an a ‘diet’ as a protest. for some reason over the winter months my pants have been giving me a hard time and i hope this protest will show em who’s boss. this diet has meant MUCH less bacon and not stuffing my face til i can’t move and want to puke.

moving on… a made a new discovery today. something i knew of, something i knew that happened but i just had the pleasure of experiencing this. the PITA PIZZA. how come i’ve never done this? i know many who have, and i’m pretty sure i’ve been in the same room as a pita pizza, but this is amazing! first off, i’m the person who isn’t much of a dough/bread fan, leaving crusts and crusts on my plate. but the pita pizza… tasty enough, crisp but not too crisp, thin but thick enough to be a great carrier of tomatoes, cheese, pepperoni and avocado!

and if you’ve never had avocado on pizza it is delicious. my first time was at woodenheads in kingston, and YUM. when done right it gets all warm and soft but forms a little tasty blackened skin. i’d rather toast these over a bonfire than marshmallows (yuk).
